I’m really glad you like this post so much. I have to confess that even though I wrote it, I come back and look at it every now and then myself because the photos are so awesome. Well, all except the last 3. Since I wrote this, I’ve discovered more and more metalheads who are cat people like me (and you). I’ve had my cat now for 17 years and he has barely slowed down. I hope he will be around for many years to come.

I think this is my favorite post of this series. It was one that I first read when I stumbled upon this site and I came back to read it again because I like it that much. and still laughing. and I love cats, so that may play a role too. I think cats are pretty metal, I hear plenty of metalheads that love cats, rather than dogs. I don’t have good experience with birds, only when I was little, I had some bird that when we let it out, it always bit me. No birdies for me. I feel happy now to conclude from this post that my metal and cat infatuation can co-exist in peace.

I damn sure know what scares me the most, and it’s not the hairless cat.
I think I know what you mean about large raptors. I knew a guy once who kept some kind of enormous falcon as a pet — took it out and let it hunt other birds. That thing was magnificent, but scary. Thinking back on it, I can certainly believe the scientists who say birds are the direct decendants of dinosaurs.

I’m not sure what scares me more, that first hairless cat near the top or the plastic surgery she-thing at the end.

And yes, cats tend to be more metal than other animals. However, I think in a headbanging contest, a medium to large sized bird can probably best a kitty, at least based on what I’ve seen with birds I’ve been around.

Ouch! But you are exactly right. And that interview is cool too. Can’t beat this line from Nate Garnette of Skeletonwitch: “If cats don’t want to fuck with you, they just get the hell out of there. It’s also pretty metal to shit in a litter box, walk away, and let everyone look at it. It takes a pretty big set to have that kind of freedom.” I guess I need a set like that.
