If you live in the U.S. and you’re like us, you’ve been keeping your eye out for news about the 2010 North American installment of the THRASH AND BURN TOUR — because previous versions of that tour have been pretty decent.

Well, we’ve got some breaking news. The identity of the bands on the tour have now been announced — and the co-headlining acts are Born of Osiris and Asking Alexandria.  The full line-up comes after the jump, with a few more tidbits of info . . .

[UPDATE: The dates, cities, and venues for this tour have now been released — and we’ve added those after the jump, too . . .]

Here’s the full line-up for the 2010 edition of THRASH AND BURN:

Born of Osiris
Asking Alexandria
Kittie
Stick To Your Guns
Impending Doom
Through the Eyes of the Dead (first half)
Evergreen Terrace (second half)
Greeley Estates
Periphery
Motionless in White
Chelsea Grin

Definitely a very mixed bag — though I’m sure which bands are defined as the goodies and the not-so-goodies in the bag will be in the eye of the beholder. As U.S. summer tours go, SUMMER SLAUGHTER will be way better this year.

The T&B tour is scheduled to run from July 16 through August 15. No specific dates or places have been released yet — but that’s supposed to happen this Friday — May 28. Stay tuned . . .

UPDATE: The tour organizers have now released the secific tour dates and places.  They must have heard about our ambivalence — because there’s no Seattle stop on this tour. Here ya go:

  1. I actually just prolapsed with the weight of indifference…

Seriously… it seems they’re really scrapng the barrel now. And also, since when did names like “Asking Alexandria” become passable?

I’d actually quite like to see Kittie again though.

    • Barrel-scraping — exactly. I’m proud to say I’ve never listened to Asking Alexandria, because with a name like that, I’ve got a pretty good idea what they sound like. There’s a half-dozen bands on this list I do like — the tough call will be whether it’s worth suffering through the rest in order to see them.
I continue to read people whose opinions I respect praising Kittie’s live act. May have to relent and go see em.

  2. I listened to AA briefly on myspace– they are literally cheeze-core.

    If Attack Attack! is a 0 / 10, then Asking Alexandria is a .5 / 10.

Born of Osiris– seen ’em twice, new album is meh.
    Asking Alexandria– see above.
Kittie– seems like they’d be cool live.
Stick To Your Guns– seen ’em twice (BOTH TIMES UNWILLINGLY), but I don’t like these guys, sorry.
Impending Doom– stupid live. they make you fucking crouch down and be silent for like 3 minutes between songs for prayer or some shit. PLEASE DON’T FORCE YOUR VIEWS ON TO ME!
Through the Eyes of the Dead– NEW ALBUM CRUSHES! I would love to see these guys live, but these other bands make me ask, is it worth it?
    Evergreen Terrace– meh.
    Greeley Estates– terrible.
    Periphery– YES!
Motionless in White– another .25 / 10 band.
Chelsea Grin– shitty deathcore, very very bleh.

  3. That’s almost identical to my own reaction, though I’ve enjoyed Impending Doom the two times I’ve seen em. Completely agree about the new Through the Eyes album — absolutely sick! Put it all in the scales, and the meh/bad entries outweigh the hot ones. Just don’t know if I’m willing to endure the former to see the latter. Continuing to stew about it . . . .

  4. We updated our post to include the cities, dates, and venues, which have now been released. No point in me stewing any more about whether the good bands on this tour outweigh the meh and the bad — because Salt Lake is about as close to Seattle as this tour is going to get.

  5. AA is not bad they are one of my favorite bands. They are also good live. ( only band i would see)
Born of Osiris is ok! they are not so good. Some songs are good but horrible live
Kittie in my mind is just fucking horrible. They should not even exist
Stick to your guns is not on my list i dont like them
Impending Doom is another that i dont like so idc for them
through the eyes of the dead is fuckin stupid they fuckin suck
greeley estates is not that bad
    evergreen terrace just sucks
    periphary i would say NO
motionless in white is alrite no so great
chelsea grin is just fuckin NO they are the worst band on the fuckin list.

  6. It’s kind of sad to see people swaying bands like Stick To Your Guns suck.. Honestly.. Open up your fuckin’ minds, almost every band on this tour is good in their own respects.

    • Stick To Your Guns is actually one of the half-dozen bands on this list I said I’d like to see, and maybe I need to give more of the others a chance — but it’s still all a moot point for me since the tour’s not coming anywhere near Seattle. Speaking of bands on the tour I would like to see (because I’ve seen em in the past and they kick ass), Impending Doom’s new album is now out and I hear it’s sick.

  7. OK I just have to reply. The truth is that Asking Alexandria, Kittie, Greeley Estates, and Motionless in White are nothing more then emo cow shit. NONE of these bands are worth anyone’s time and if anyone who listens to ACTUAL metal thinks differently then they are an idiot. PERIOD.

  8. Omg went to see them!
    They were awesome!
But Asking Alexandria was the bomb!

  9. i thot ther was one in alxandria louisiana
