(Andy Synn delivers another installment of his irregular series of album reviews in haiku. There are two more after the jump.)

TAAKE – GRAVKAMRE, KRONER OG TRONER

Riffs and rage and hate

Twenty years of blasphemy

Flying the black flag

MORS PRINCIPIUM EST – …AND DEATH SAID LIVE

Some good songs and riffs

But familiarity

Starts to breed contempt

WRETCHED – SON OF PERDITION

Technical deathcore

I can really get behind

Vicious heavy shred

  1. Need to get the Taake, the Mors Principium Est is good!!!

  2. But is there banjo
    On the latest black missive
    From TAA-AAA-AAA-AKE!?

  3. That Taake album cover is hilarious

  4. Man, Taake is just getting better and better. The Emperor cover on that album is pretty fucking sweet. I hope we get to hear it during the Inferno Festival. That or the banjo 😛

The cover photo is kind of silly with the white background, but it is probably from some gig. Høst usually has a norwegian flag hanging upside down on stage.

I don’t think i have heard Mors Principium Est before this release, but i really enjoyed it. Departure and I Will Return are catchy as fuck!

  5. I would disagree about Mors Principium Est’s aforementioned latest album. Imho, they manage to keep it fresh and rifftastic all the time, and even manage to throw in some awesome growling very nearly at the end of the album to end at a high note.

But then again, that’s one of the few albums I bought right off the bat, so I’m probably a fanboy 😉
