UPDATE: This tour has now been confirmed. After the jump you’ll find the official flyer and all the dates.

I guess you could call this gun-jumping, since I’m posting it in advance of any official announcement. Not long ago I noticed a series of coincidences: Dying Fetus, Devourment, Exhumed, and Abiotic — four ass-kicking bands I follow on Facebook — all posted similar statuses.  For example, Dying Fetus posted: “major tour announcement 4pm EST today”.  And Abiotic posted: “Check back here at 4pm EST for a HUGE announcement! \m/”

Being the impatient sort, I googled those four bands’ names plus the word “tour”. And lo and behold, what I discovered were three widely separated venues in the US and Canada offering tickets for a show involving those four bands. Using the superior deductive skills for which I’m widely known, I deduced: NORTH AMERICAN SKULL-FUCKING TOUR!

Actually, I don’t know for sure that it will be called the SKULL FUCKING TOUR, but that really should be the name. Here are the dates and places I’ve found so far:

OCT 7, Tampa, FL @ The Orpheum

OCT 22, Calgary, AB @ Republik

OCT 30, Poughkeepsie, NY @ The Chance

There appear to be some kick-ass local or regional bands on these dates as well, such as Rivers of Nihil on that Poughkeepsie date.

I’ll be updating this post in a couple of hours with what I presume will be the full list of dates and places. That list damn well better include Seattle or I’ll throw a temper tantrum. Seriously, is this a hot shit tour or what?

UPDATE: As expected, this tour has now been confirmed, and both Rivers of Nihil and Waking the Cadaver will be playing on selected dates. Here’s the schedule followed by the tour flyer. I will not have to throw a temper tantrum. (VIP tickets are on sale here, and general admission tix go on sale Friday.)

  1. This is coming to Seattle on a Saturday! This is the best news ever!

  2. all the awesome summer tours just keep passing me by. meanwhile my local amphitheater is filling it’s calendar with Pantera & Tool tribute bands. what the hell??????

  3. The dates on both this site and Metalsucks say the October 15 date is in Santa Ana, but the flyer says San Diego. Those are two different places…

  4. I find it hilarious as to how this tour’s first date is in my state. I bet you all it’ll be 21+. I will be 20 by the time of the tour date, which is a big smack in the face if it is 21+.

  5. No Michigan date 🙁 Dying Fetus ALWAYS skips the mitten. They did so on their tour with Cattle Decapitation, as well. Fetus, what did the Mitten ever do to you to hate it so?

  6. Holy crapping christ, what a lineup! Orlando here I come!!!!

  7. This tour sounds like awesomeness. Too bad they won’t be coming anywhere near Kansas, as is the case with all other metal tours.

  8. Wow, 2 FL dates. I will be damn sure to avoid them both 🙂
