This morning we gleefully delivered the cover art, album title, and projected release information for the new album by Cannibal CorpseA Skeletal Domain. And now, a few short hours later, we find that Metal Blade has released the first advance track from the album for public streaming. The song’s name is “Sadistic Embodiment” — and goddamn, it’s a scorcher. This album was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, DevilDriver) instead of Erik Rutan, who produced the band’s last three albums, but it still sounds decimating.

The album will be released on September 16 and pre-orders are now being accepted here. Listen to the new track next.

(thanks to Vonlughlio for tipping us to the song’s release)

  1. I’m getting this!!!! Liked the song a lot

  2. Awesome. Reminds me of some of the stuff from Kill. And that breakdown near the end is fucking sick.

  3. DAMN! Webster’s bass tone is killer. Fucking stoked.

  4. I wonder why they didn’t go with Erik Rutan again for this album, killer song nonetheless

    • The label’s press release said this: “Mark Lewis offered a slightly different, modern recording approach, but the band stressed that they could not be more pleased with their previous albums with Rutan, and the door is most definitely open to work with him again in the future. Changing producers is something the band has historically done after every few albums, if only to not get too comfortable. “

  5. Ooh man, this is killer. I was just getting back into a Cannibal Corpse mood too – before a week or so ago I hadn’t listened to any of their stuff in maybe a year.

  6. The bass tone on this song is savage and oppressive in the best possible way.

  7. Normally CC does nothing for me, but the bass tone, and the generally thrasy sound in this one is pretty awesome!
I know im gonna get shot for this, but the only thing dragging this down for me is Corpsegrinder. Never did like his vocals :O
