Aborted - Termination Redux - EP

Given the diversity of our tastes in metal, there aren’t many bands that all of the old-timers on our staff can unanimously unite behind with enthusiastic devotion, but Aborted is one of those. And so you can imagine, then, we’re almost beside ourselves with glee over what we’re about to deliver unto your unprepared eyes and ears — a brand new Aborted song and a brand new video to go with it.

The name of the song is “Termination Redux” and it will appear on a special 20th anniversary EP by the same name that will be released in January as a prelude to the band’s next full-length album

I said “unprepared” on purpose, because seriously, you’re not ready for what you’re about to see and hear — unless you’re a fan of horror and gore, in which case you’ll… eat this up. As a prelude to the slaughter banquet, let’s consider this statement by the band:

“Dear ghouls and maniacs: We couldn’t be more excited to make the following announcement! 2015 marked 20 years of existence for Aborted and we figured we would do something for the occasion, so here it is!

Termination Redux is our 20th anniversary EP release containing 3 new tracks and a re-recording of our 2001 Engineering The Dead opener ‘The Holocaust Incarnate’. The release will be exclusively available on vinyl and digitally. We will have a limited amount of copies on neon orange vinyl so grab those while you can!

“The video for Termination Redux was shot with our good friend Jens from Panda Productions and we hope you enjoy it! Next to this EP release which will be out just in time for our tour with our friends in Kataklysm and Septic Flesh, we will also be recording our new full-length this December at Kohlekeller Studio in Germany. The EP is a prelude of things to come and rest assured the new album will be ripping you a new one next spring! Support death metal!”

This new song delivers the full-throttle gut-punching blood-lust that we’ve all come to expect from Aborted, but you may find that it holds a few surprises as well — the song’s opening section leans more toward the technical death metal side of extremity than you might be expecting. The unearthly melody that surfaces about two minutes in, coupled with a delicious little solo by Mendel, provides a bit of entrancement… and then about a minute later the band serve up a savory neck-snapping riff that will get your mouth watering.

Some thundering grooves in this song, too, and of course the vocals (as always) are deranged and ravenous. And speaking of ravenous, we hope you’re bringing a healthy appetite to this video, because oh what a feast it will set before you! (It’s NSFW, by the way.)

Termination Redux will be released on limited-edition vinyl (as well as digitally) and it’s available for pre-order HERE in a variety of bundles. Here’s the track list:

1- Liberate Me Ex-Inferis
2- Termination Redux
3- Vestal Disfigurement upon the Sacred Chantry
4- Bound in Acrimony
5- The Holocaust Re-incarnate

As part of their 20th anniversary celebration, Aborted have also planned an extensive series of European tour dates, and you can see the schedule right after the video.

  1. Aborted continue to be on a tear as of late. Necrotic Manifesto still gets plays out of me pretty often.

  2. Aborted are one of the best Death/Grind bands on the planet to me, great video, exquisite groove and brutality, these people are a warranty in terms of quality!

  3. Gore isn’t entirely my thing, but a cool song notwithstanding.

  4. Yep, sounds like classic Aborted!! Awesome! Always have loved Svencho’s vocals, no other vocalist in extreme metal sounds like that guy

  5. FANTASTIC! Can’t wait for the rest! Every part, drumming, guitar, vocals, is deadly powerful and makes you want to hear more! Excellent! After 20 years, you still bring it! The best today!
