In April of this year a quintet of international labels will release Dentro del Sarcófago, the debut album of Vomito Mortuorio. That band is the project of veteran Salvadorean metalhead Céfiro de Muerte, who has also been involved in Conceived By Hate, Conflagración, Witchgöat, Disorder, Morbid Stench, and Invocation of Death. For this new album, drums were recorded in France by session drummer J.H.
The labels describe the music as “uncompromising death/black rhythms with lyrics in Spanish and totally dedicated to cemeteries, rusted mausoleums and old human bones.” We have some descriptions of our own as a prelude to premiering a ghastly video for the album’s title song, “Dentro del Sarcófago“.
In a nutshell, the song is thoroughly foul and festering, and equally malicious and merciless. It spews the riffs with guitars tuned to ugly levels of distortion and deployed with fast tremolo-picking that generates a ravenous and roiling experience. High-octane snare work and gut-loosening bass-throbs add fuel to the feeding-frenzy viciousness of the riffs.
The vocals are every bit as malignant and rotten as the music, vomiting the words in a blood-congealing mix of gritty gutturals, noxious gagging, and rabid screams. Vomito Mortuorio also breaks up the frothing musical sewage with segments of brutally stomping and morbidly lurching low-end fretwork and more measured snare-beats — segments that still sound as monstrous as the more frenetic episodes of eviscerating mayhem.
Dentro del Sarcófago was mixed and mastered at Studio Unbound in Sweden. It will be released in April by the following labels on the following formats:
