I know, I’m a grown man and grown men don’t say “awesome”. But I can’t fuckin’ help it. Earlier this morning, the organizers of Maryland Deathfest XI officially announced the addition of 10 more bands to the line-up, including the headliner for Thursday’s event: BOLT THROWER. Here are the latest additions:

BOLT THROWER (UK)
SLEEP
CARPATHIAN FOREST (Norway)
REVENGE (Canada)
ABIGAIL (Japan)
CRUCIAMENTUM (UK)
ANHEDONIST
SPEEDWOLF
AMBASSADOR GUN
ASTHMA CASTLE

Seriously, this festival is reaching nose-bleed heights of ridiculousness. If you want to lose your breath momentarily, take a look at the now-updated line-up (recognizing that it’s still not complete and that the final announcement of bands won’t come until sometime between October 8-10):

!T.O.O.H.! (Czech Republic)
ABIGAIL (Japan)
AHUMADO GRANUJO (Czech Republic)
AMBASSADOR GUN
ANHEDONIST
ANTAEUS (France)
AOSOTH (France)
ASTHMA CASTLE
BENEDICTION (UK)
BOLT THROWER (UK)
BROKEN HOPE
CARCASS (UK)
CARPATHIAN FOREST (Norway)
CONVULSE (Finland)
CRUCIAMENTUM (UK)

GLORIOR BELLI (France)
GRIDE (Czech Republic)
IHSAHN (Norway)
INGROWING (Czech Republic)
INIQUITY (Denmark)
INTEGRITY
KOMMANDANT

MANILLA ROAD
MIDNIGHT
MORGION
PAGAN ALTAR (UK)
PELICAN
PENTAGRAM
PIG DESTROYER
REPULSION
REVENGE (Canada)
RIGHTEOUS PIGS
SLEEP
SPEEDWOLF
VENOM (UK)
VINTERLAND (Sweden)

The organizers have also confirmed that the festival will remain in Baltimore for the 2013 installment, though an announcement of the venue still hasn’t been made.

I really fuckin’ wish I didn’t live 2,863 miles on the other end of I-90 from Baltimore.

  1. Last year’s bill was like the bestest ever… and I didn’t go. This one’s pretty good I guess…

I was under the impression that Revenge is a NSBM band… are they?

Anyway, if I were to go, I’d be going to see:

    Bolt Thrower
    Carcass
    Carpathian Forest
    Cruciamentum
Repulsion (I’m not even into them, but they’re legends, so why not?)
    Venom

and maybe… Anhedonist, Asosoth, Revenge, Glorior Belli, Ihsahn, Midnight and Pentagram.

    • Never heard anything about Revenge being NSBM

Theres a bunch of other awesome bands you may want to check into

      Morgion
      Abigail
      Antaeus
Benediction (though there most recent album was bad, theyre right behind Bolt Thrower as far as UK death metal goes)
Convulse (classic Finnish death metal..first chance to see them in almost 20 years)
Kommandant (if you like Revenge check them out)
      Loss
      Manilla Road
Pagan Alter (if you like Pentagram then look into these guys as well)
Speedwolf (not as good as Midnight, but the same style of punky speed metal)
      Vinterland

I wasnt sure about the fest this year, but this last round of bands has me totally pumped for the concert

  2. So… I would see Pelican, lol. I haven’t heard of 90% of the bands on this list, haha.

  3. I already need to go, because Morgion. And because Pagan Altar. But then Pelican, and now Anhedonist and Sleep? I know it’s too much to ask for all of these on the same day, I might have to consider doing multiple days… That’s almost six months away, guess I better start saving my pennies…

  4. Current plan for me is to fly in for Thursday only. Aside from BT, no other “absolute must see”, but hopefully ANHEDONIST, REPULSION & RIGHTEOUS PIGS are on Thursday as well 🙂
