FREE SHIT FROM HELLS HEADBANGERS (INCLUDING NEW SONGS FROM MIDNIGHT, WITCH CROSS, PROFANATICA, AND IMPIETY)
Many of our readers are intimately familiar with Hells Headbangers, but for those who aren’t, it’s an online distro and record label specializing in death, black, thrash, grind, doom, and heavy metal. As a label, Hells Headbangers is home to a tremendous line-up of slaughtering bands, many of whom we’ve featured here at NCS. This morning I discovered that HH has made available a free summer comp of music from many of those bands. The comp consists of 20 tracks and includes brand new songs from forthcoming albums by Midnight, Witch Cross, Profanatica, and Impiety.
The comp also comes with artwork drawn by Antichrist Kramer as an homage to Slayer’s debut album Show No Mercy. The timing is coincidental, but it now seems like a fitting tribute to the late Jeff Hanneman. (There’s a track on the comp listed as a Slayer song . . . but it’s really Vomitor.)
The comp is available as a free digital download on Bandcamp, and HH says a double-LP and a CD version will be coming soon.
I’ve been blasting this shit this morning, and it’s awful strong. Links are after the jump, along with the new tracks and the complete album stream.
From the Bandcamp page: “The cover art is no crafty Photoshop manipulation and NOT a tribute cash-in to the late & great Jeff Hanneman but homage to the “Show No Mercy” masterpiece as a whole. “The Antichrist” Kramer has drawn all artwork from scratch prior to Hanneman’s passing.”
Oh wait, you already mentioned it’s coincidental. I read it wrong. Derp.
I know, right? And new Impiety too. This really snuck up without fanfare. What a thoughtful gift from Satan.
Far be it for me to forget the new Midnight material, for all of those interested, check out the new album by Intoxicated. While the album artwork is campy and corny as hell the music feels like Midnight/Abigail and a touch of Motorhead if you fancy that, nothing overly amazing but a stupid and fun romp all the same.
Wow, that is an irresistible sales pitch. Intoxicated, here I come!
Just discovered I have the promo for that . . . downloading now.
May I also recommend tracking down material by Bomber (Chile) and Promiscuity (Israel….http://infernalrocknroll.bandcamp.com/)
Well, theres no way that post is going to belnd into the background ;P
(Okay keyboard monkey…I need ya to fixed..chop..chop)
Gah!..”fix that”…I need you to “fix that”
…Dammit!… Im going back to bed!..
I think you meant to say “going back to bedlam”.
Why yes, you may! I had other things I was going to listen to for tomorrow. Those plans have gone into the shitter since making my way through these comments.
And “Rock ‘n Roll Hellpatrol” is track 5 on this comp.
All too fitting that they also rep HHR.
This album is kicking my ass up between my shoulder blades.
I just happily received the promo for the new Witch Cross release yesterday and it sounds great thus far. I am constantly impressed by HHR and their re-release of the original LP last year was top notch, as it introduced a new generation to their grandeur including this writer. I took a look at that here: http://heavymetal.about.com/od/cdreviews/fr/Witch-Cross-Fit-For-Fight-Review.htm
I am feeling more ignorant than usual, since I had never heard of Witch Cross. But I sure like the new song. Ridiculously catchy.
Fit for Fight is insanely good, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIOojpMPmYA
Oh man, no lie!
New Impeity…damn, those guys are like the AC/DC of blackened death. They make the same album 23 times
this is awesome, so many great bands on this comp! i love burning compilation cd’s for road trips, i’ve been playing the hell our of the Metal Blade comp i got at Mayhem, last summer
