As I mentioned earlier this morning, we’re rapidly approaching the brink of our year-end LISTMANIA orgy. In fact, on Friday I’ll be soliciting reader suggestions for our annual Most Infectious Song list, and about a week after that I’ll be asking our readers to give us their lists of the year’s best releases — so please start thinking about both of those subjects. Of course, we’ll once again be re-posting year-end lists from select print zines and “big platform” music sites as they appear, as well as publishing “best of” lists by our staff and invited guests, both band members and fans.

In the meantime, we’ll also continue trying to recommend new releases, and there are still some big ones due for arrival before January 1. There have also been some notable ones released quite recently that I fear we’ll never get around to reviewing, and so I’m forced to resort to posts like this one in which I’ll just share the music and sacrifice the words of praise (though in many cases we’ve already written about individual songs). However, we do welcome your own thoughts about these releases in the Comments. Here we go — I hope you’ll give each of these albums at least a sample test.

  1. Bestial Raids one of the finest bands out there along with Revenge of course.
    Pure Brutality.
Vircolac is also interesting from the founder of Invictus Productions!

  2. Bestial Raids put out one of the best albums I’ve heard this year, hands down. It’s phenomenal and brutal as hell.

  3. Azooma’s take on tech’ish death is somewhat different and refreshing. I like it.
Also, thanks for taking a “Bellow the NCS Radar” candidate of my laden chest by putting Tardigrada in there. Emotionale Ödnis is such a magnificent album.

What? Just 1.5 months left of the year? No, no, no… We gotta make it longer. I haven’t heard all the 6,000 albums released thus far in 2016 quite yet.

    • You are absolutely right about Emotionale Ödnis, I purchased it immediately after hearing a premier on IO.

It really is emotional as the album title would have you believe.

    • The true insanity is that of those 6,000 we’ve left unheard, there are probably 1,000 of them that are really good and 100 that would change our lives. 🙂

      • That’s my sole motivation to go on; Fear. I’ve grown to despise metal in all its forms over the past five years, you know, but I’m absolutely petrified I’ll miss out on something, so I keep at it in sheer mortal fear 😛

  4. loved the previous release of Furia, can’t wait to press play on this one!

  5. New Furia is amazing. One of the very best ever. Wedrucjacy Wiatr is amazing too. Pulling not punches and one upping the awesome Winterfylleth at their own game.

  6. Vinyl version of the Vircolac ep should be available from SV before Xmas.
The fact our singer runs Invictus is neither here nor there. The band stands on its’ own.
