The death metal band Banisher was formed in Rzeszów, Poland, in 2005 by Hubert Więcek (DIETH, ex-Acid Drinkers live, ex-Decapitated). Since then, the band’s full lineup has also included members of such well-known groups as Fleshgod Apocalypse, Belphegor, Vital Remains, and Hate.
They have released four albums over the last 20 years, and now, after a six-year hiatus, a fifth one is set for release on January 30th by Selfmadegod Records. Its title is Metamorphosis.
To help introduce the new album, today we premiere a song from it named “Manifest of Justice“, presented with a lyric video.
Here is how the label and the band explain the song’s themes:
“Manifest Of Justice” unleashes a dark vision of humanity’s end, told through the eyes of a merciless demonic force rising against mankind. It frames extinction not as punishment, but as justice, embodying fate’s inevitability and the shadow that lives within us all.
In thinking about how to locate the song on the vast soundscape of death metal, you might imagine a confluence of different roads — an intersection of tech-death, brutal death, and groove metal shrouded with diabolical and demented sensations drawn from a nightmare realm.
Without prelude, Banisher assault the listener with furious, hair-raising screams and ominously groaning chords punctuated by blistering percussive outbursts. Following a grim broadcast warning, the band dial up the intensity, inflicting increasingly feverish and distraught riffing along with assaulting blast-beats, gut-slugging bass-work, and screaming string tortures.
The music swiftly stops and starts, and the riffing also dismally swarms; the drums gallop and hammer; a solo guitar frantically shrieks and swirls; the vocals vent ugly guttural growls; and the band continue punctuating their manifold sonic terrors with traumatizing rhythmic jolts.
And so the song proves to be monstrous and maniacal, bone-bruising and berserk, a good way to get your heart pumping and your head spinning. Discover for yourselves:
