This is the tenth year of existence for Orbstruct, the blackened death metal band founded in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and later driven by war to a new home in Poland. During that decade Orbstruct has released three albums, the most recent of which (Ostracism) dropped last year.
To mark this year’s milestone anniversary, Orbstruct performed a live show this past May at the Hype Park Club in Kraków, a show that featured nine songs selected by the band from across their three albums, creating a convergence of their past and present.
Orbstruct’s performance was captured in a recording that will be digitally released under the title A Decade of Transcendence on July 30. It was also captured on film — and today we present that video of this commemorative show.

Over the years, the world surrounding ORBSTRUCT has changed repeatedly. A global pandemic, war, the forced displacement from a hometown situated on the front line, painful separations, line-up changes, and the necessity of rebuilding nearly everything from scratch – experiences capable of challenging any creative endeavour.
Yet throughout all of these upheavals, the band’s commitment to move forward, seek its own answers, and remain faithful to the principles on which ORBSTRUCT was founded has never wavered. Rather than viewing this path as a story of obstacles overcome, the band regards it as a process of constant forward motion and inevitable inner transformation.

The video was professionally filmed and edited, providing multiple viewpoints for a powerful and genuinely electrifying show. The video also provides a great introduction to Orbstruct for newcomers, and of course it’s a big benefit for long-time fans as well. And for those of us who’ve never seen an Orbstruct show, it proves they know how to command a stage.
As for the music itself, the recording is excellent. It channels the thundering heaviness and raw power of a live show but is mixed so well that the contributions of each band member (who are all very talented) are clearly identifiable. The recording also showcases the multi-dimensional nature of the band’s evolving compositions, which generate sensations of viciousness and violence, otherworldly darkness and delirious madness, desolating bleakness and ferocious defiance.
You’ll also discover that Orbstruct’s songs are often packed with muscle-moving grooves. Sometimes you might feel like you’ve been caught in a wildfire or dropped into a war-zone or transported into a dimension populated by suffering wraiths, but you’ll also have plenty of chances to bang your heads.
