The last time we premiered music here from the Italian black metal band Agonia Black Vomit, in the run-up toward their second album Cosmosatanic Wisdom in 2017, we focused on how surprising the songs were, and how significantly they varied from each other in their sounds and moods — much more varied (and melodically rich) than one might have expected after seeing the band’s music simply categorized as “raw antichristian black metal” (not to mention their name)
Since then Agonia Black Vomit (which has been the solo work of Agonia) released another album — The Burning Noise of Satanic Annihilation — in 2023, and in July the fourth one will be co-released by Symbol Of Domination and WP Productions. The name of this one is Satanic Rites For The Undead.
Obviously, the band’s antichristian and unholy lyrical bent hasn’t changed at all, but the music is still multi-faceted, as you’ll discover for yourselves through the song we’re premiering today with a video, “Tenebre e Sangue“.
On the one hand, the music here is heinous and hostile. It includes bestial sensations from the rhythm guitar that lurch and gnash in the low end, as well as furiously battering drums, maniacally throbbing bass-lines, and unhinged screams that ravenously and fanatically come for our throats.
On the other hand, shrill, piercing keys with a gothic air gleam, sweep, and frantically flicker in the sonic stratosphere; savage chords blare, slash, and churn; and the drums methodically hammer coffin nails. The music thus becomes infernally glorious as well as simultaneously quite ominous and cold-hearted.
The vitriolic tirades of the vocals continue with utmost savagery, but the music begins to moan as well as spit fire, and to become hellishly haughty as well as frenzied. The ethereal keyboard overlays shift as well, seeming to manifest haunting eeriness and pestilential danger as well as frightening wonder.
At the end, as the music softens, it becomes even more haunting… as the backdrop for unsettling spoken words.
Satanic Rites For The Undead is the sole work of Agonia, with a guest bass performance by Daniele on the song we’ve just premiered. It was recorded and mixed in 2025 at Breaking Sound Studio by Glitch Experiment, and features artwork by Agonia. It includes 10 songs with a running time of 50 minutes.
Symbol Of Domination and WP Productions will co-release it on July 15th in a jewel-case CD edition with an 8-page booklet (500 copies), and digitally. See the links below, and also please listen to the album’s first single, “Obitorium“.
