Four years after their debut album, Sickness Define: Society, the Belarusian black/thrash band Wormquizitor have completed their second full-length, Esthetic of Fear, which will be released by a trio of labels on July 21st. As we are told, its ten tracks “explore themes of state violence, propaganda, war in all its forms, nuclear obsession, hopelessness, and punitive psychiatry.”
To help spread the word, today we’re premiering the new album’s second single, “Am I Beast“. That title sounds like a question, and at least in the case of the music the answer is pretty clearly YES.

The vocals are definitely beastly, the kind of gritty growls that radiate malice, while the dual-guitar riffing creates a sinister, infernal aura as the feverishly drilling and flashing chords rise and fall. The drums lead a galloping charge but also begin furiously blasting, and as they do the guitars climb higher in outbursts of delirium.
Wormquizitor also launch riffing that imperiously pulsates and seems to dismally moan, and they also cut loose a spitfire guitar solo that sounds like ecstatic lunacy.
It’s a fiendish, high-octane romp, and pretty damned infectious too. Check it out:

Esthetic Of Fear will be jointly released by GrimmDistribution, More Hate Productions, and Dark East Productions, in a jewel-box CD edition with a 12-page booklet, and digitally. They recommend it for fans of bands like Destroyer 666, Bewitched, and Wratheon. After the following links we’ve also installed a stream of the new album’s first single, “Famine“.
