As I write this I am sitting on an airplane at about 40,000 feet somewhere over the Rocky Mountains. I am having to fly across the country because of my fucking day job, and once I get where I’m going, I will have to fucking work — pretty much day and night until I make it back to Seattle on Saturday night.

I tell you this not to pique your curiosity — because I can’t tell you what I’m doing, or I could, but would then have to kill you — but as an explanation of why there will be some scarcity in our posts between now and Sunday. Also, the “Seen and Heard” title is only half true:

The wi-fi on this plane isn’t good enough to let me stream music, so I actually haven’t heard anything — other than the guy sitting next to me snorting his phlegm every 10 minutes, the dude in front of me snoring, and the dull roar of the engines. Also, I have to fucking work on the plane beginning pretty damned soon.

Well, enough of my whining. Here are some things I’ve seen in my scampering through the inter hole this morning, and some things I would like to hear when I have the chance.

ANAAL NATHRAKH

As you undoubtedly know by now, at least if you hang around this dump on a regular basis, Britain’s Anaal Nathrakh have a new album named Desideratum coming out on October 28 via Metal Blade. We will have a review soon. In the meantime, Noisey premiered another new song from the album within the last hour. This one is the album’s fourth track, “The One Needful Thing”. I think you should listen to it in all its vicious glory:

BEYOND CREATION

Season of Mist will be releasing the second album by Canada’s Beyond Creation in North America on October 28. I haven’t heard all of it yet. It only reached our in-box recently. But as of today the entire album is available for exclusive streaming at this location. Definitely worth checking out:

DEMONIC RESURRECTION

India’s Demonic Resurrection released a music video today for the song “Death, Desolation and Despair” from their fourth album The Demon King. This is something I have not seen (see above regarding wi-fi limitations), though I know the song and like it. I would like to see the video, so I’m leaving it here for future use — as well as your own entertainment.

SIGNING NEWS: HATE ETERNAL AND MALEVOLENT CREATION

My in-box alerted me to these two recent signings, both of which involve albums I think will be worth hearing next year:

FirstHate Eternal have signed with Season of Mist for the release of their sixth album, which is now being recorded at Mana Studios in Florida.

Second, the long-running death metal band Malevolent Creation have signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records — and they are currently working on their upcoming 12th album. The album is scheduled for release next year, and the press release says the band will “tour the world in support of it”.

NUCLEAR PERVERSION

Here’s another music stream. This one is the debut demo by Germany’s Nuclear Perversion, which is entitled Desolation Rituals. I wrote about them a month ago (here) when I heard the first advance track. I liked what I heard then and suspect I’ll like the rest of this perversion.

The premiere of the full stream happened today at CVLT Nation. The demo will be released on tape by Iron Bonehead today.

Unrelated: digging that new Anaal Nathrakh track, and psyched for Hate Eternal – was just jamming some of their stuff yesterday.

  5. Really curious to see how people react to the first group of songs on Nathrakhs new one. The industrial and electronic elements come through hard at points.
