Last fall we had the pleasure of premiering a full stream of The Final Outcome, a new EP by the Roman band Black Therapy, as well as a lyric video for the title track. And today we’re helping premiere an official music video for another song on the EP — the band’s cover of “Mad World”.
The cover was an interesting choice for the EP and a significant change of pace compared to the high-voltage melodic death gallops that precede it on the EP. Of course, the song was originally recorded by Tears For Fears, though in this case the band took their inspiration from the Gary Jules cover of the song that was included on the Donnie Darko movie soundtrack.
For Black Therapy’s cover, the fantastic Francesco Ferrini from Fleshgod Apocalypse makes a guest appearance on piano, and the band’s rendition is dark and devastating — and a highlight of the EP. The video, which was filmed and edited by Sanda Movies, is equally dark, and a fitting match for the music.
The EP can be ordered at the Revalve Records online store or on iTunes.

I’m always a fan of strange metal covers. Arsis’s rendition of “Sunglasses At Night” might be one of my favorite covers, and this one’s pretty solid too.
Gorgeous song and a really good video 🙂
This is a quality cover. I always wished for a segment on a metal radio/Internet station that played metal covers of non-metal songs. This would be a great candidate for such a concept.
I agree there should be such a podcast or something of the like
