If you’ve been paying attention to our persistent frothing at the mouth over the forthcoming album by “super-group” Alkaloid, or if you only happened to catch our premiere of the title track from The Malkuth Grimoire, then we have some very good news for you. And if the band’s name is still one you haven’t yet come across, look at the line-up, and then we’ll give you the news:

Morean (Dark FortressNoneuclid) – Vocals, Guitars
Christian Muenzner (Spawn of Possession, Ex-Obscura, Ex-Necrophagist) – Guitars
Danny Tunker (Aborted, Ex-God Dethroned) – Guitars
Linus Klausenitzer (ObscuraNoneuclid) – Bass
Hannes Grossmann (Blotted Science, Ex-Obscura, Ex-Necrophagist) – Drums

And the news is that the entire album can be streamed in its entirety as of today.

Loudwire is now hosting the full-album stream, and although the Soundcloud player is a sharable one, we will be good boys and give you the link to the Loudwire page where it’s embedded rather than stick it in this post:

Alternatively, you can wait until tomorrow (the release date) and catch the stream on Alkaloid’s Bandcamp page, where it’s now available for order:

But whatever you do, give this a listen. It’s an amazingly good album that we venture to say won’t sound like anything else you’ve heard this year.

  1. Yes. Yes, I will, in fact, stream Alkaloid’s new album.

  2. No need, already got it, and it’s a monster of an album, the only downside is the length, but at the same time, you cannot leave out any track(s), it’s just so fucking good!

  3. this sounds so very, very, very killer 🙂

  4. Can’t believe how strong this album is. Holy shit. So glad they didn’t go for the whole ‘faster is more progressive nonsense’ like so many bands do now. These guys have actual songs, not a bunch of technical exercises bunched together.

    • That’s what I feel from this album. Not many tech-death/prog-death bands lately can create the feelings that I get from Alkaloid’s debut. I get chills, empowerment, and wonder all at once. It’s dark, brutal, intense, a mix of super fast to super slow, and even catchy which altogether make an awesome collaboration of metal.
