I would like to see the 2014 edition of the SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour. It includes Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Goatwhore, Origin, Decrepit Birth, Fallujah, and other bands. I bet it would be a good time. But as much as I would like to see SUMMER SLAUGHTER, SUMMER SLAUGHTER does not want to see me.

Last night the tour schedule surfaced (I saw it on Origin’s Facebook page), and it doesn’t include Seattle, though it has in many previous years. In fact, everything north of San Francisco is getting snubbed this year. Somehow, I will survive the snubbing.

Happy goddamned Friday to one and all. I have a few randomly selected items to share with you, as a way of greasing the skids for your slide into the weekend. Because I wouldn’t want anyone to get ass burn before the fun starts.


Let’s begin with a jet-fueled death/thrash romp.

Late last month I included some release info about the debut album (Consumed) by the UK’s Seprevation in one of these round-ups, despite the fact that I had no music from the album to share with you at that point. I mainly just liked the album cover. But today the band released an official video for a song named “Slave To the Grave”, and guess what? The music is as good as that album cover. Continue reading »

When last we mentioned this year’s edition of the SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour, we had the final line-up of bands but no dates or locations other than L.A. and NYC. Today, the initial schedule was announced, although more dates will be added. As a reminder, here’s the diverse group of bands who will be appearing on the tour:
